$250,000
Grant Awarded To Kinetics Industries
Technology Transfer and Commercialization
Program By New Jersey Commission on
Science and Technology
Kinetics Industries, Inc. of Ewing,
New Jersey, manufactures solid state
AC to DC power conversion and control
products for heavy industrial, military
and transit applications. Kinetics
has been awarded a $250,000 Technology
Transfer and Commercialization Program
(TTCP) award by the New Jersey Commission
on Science and Technology. The TTCP
award is structured as an interest-free
recoverable grant, with pay back terms
in proportion to a company's sales
over a ten year period.
The TTCP award will be used for the development and commercialization of a digital electronic control and annunciation module for brushless and brush type synchronous motors in the range of 100 to 25,000 Hp. A synchronous motor is a specific type of AC motor with a DC field control function used for constant speed applications requiring maximum torque; such as water pumps, air compressors and milling processes.
The New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology awards TTCP grants, on a competitive proposal basis, in amounts up to a maximum of $250,000 for projects that offer technological development and economic growth within New Jersey. Kinetics is very proud to be awarded the competitive grant by the Commission, for the maximum funded permitted by the program.
The TTCP award will permit Kinetics to develop and commercially offer the most complete worldwide line of motor field excitation products.
The award will result in the hiring of additional electrical engineers, and electronic technicians. In association with the Mercer County Vo-Tech School, Kinetics is a federal and State approved apprenticeship facility for electrical, electronic and sheet metal fabrication trades.
Kinetics is currently operating at full capacity at the Ewing production facility. The company will also require enlarged facilities or a new location within New Jersey. Kinetics hopes Ewing Township will join the State of New Jersey and Mercer County in recognizing the value of the skilled employment that Kinetics offers the community and will permit Kinetics to grow and expand within the township.
